Is the BMW X3 suitable for long distances? If one asks the question whether this motor vehicle is also suitable for longer trips, one has to consider different aspects, comfort, tank volume, top speed...
The tank capacity (50 liters) is rather average in size, but in conjunction with the good average consumption (2.1 liters / 100km), you can sometimes cover very long ranges with the BMW X3. An important criterion for frequent drivers: the top speed. This is 135 km/h and is therefore less suitable for long distances, as any intermediate sprints simply take too long. At least as important on long journeys is the comfort and interior space. With a length of 4708 mm, the car is one of the big ones - adequate suspension, upholstery and noise insulation should be standard here.
The integrated distance cruise control ensures both safe and relaxed travel by automatically maintaining both the speed and the distance to the vehicle in front. Of course, air conditioning is a must for comfortable journeys. Here, even an automatic air conditioning system is installed, i.e. the air volume and temperature is automatically adjusted to the interior temperature, while a simple air conditioning system has to be operated manually. In unclear parking situations, the built-in rear view camera helps to avoid accidents. The seats are comfortably covered with leather. The integrated lane departure warning system helps the driver stay on the lane. The driver is warned of objects in the blind spot should an attempt be made to change lanes. The head-up display helps keep the driver's eyes on the road by projecting important information directly into the driver's field of vision.
