BMW iX I20 xDrive40 - Terrain

Is the BMW iX I20 xDrive40 also suitable for off-road use? Here often a distinction is made between "soft-roaders" and real off-roaders. For real off-road capability it needs more than just some more ground clearance. The SUV boom of the last 10 years has produced many models that look off-road but have limited capability to do so.

The BMW iX has all-wheel drive, which means that the basic requirement is already met. Ground clearance, another important criterion, is 202 mm for this vehicle. This allows it to move forward even in hilly terrain and, for example, on muddy paths in the forest without sitting up, assuming all-wheel drive.

The integrated 360-degree camera can also help you move forward on rough terrain and avoid damage.

Rating: The BMW iX has all-wheel drive as well as acceptable ground clearance. Occasional off-road excursions are no problem. However, it is not a real off-road vehicle.
